LHAC was awarded funding from the Murrumbidgee PHN to develop a campaign to encourage local people to improve their health outcomes by engaging with behaviours that could avoid preventable health conditions.

We developed the campaign around promoting simple actions that people in the community could easily take on their phone. The central message was: Better health is in your hands: There are things you can do today to prevent or manage chronic health issues.

We created a series of simple, easy to engage messages that raised awareness of and actions to improve health outcomes in 12 areas: Heart disease, lung health, diabetes, kidney health, bowel cancer, skin cancer, dementia, mental health, child health, disability support, smoking and stroke.

For each message we developed a QR code linking to a simple preventative action - for example, the heart disease code links to a heart health quiz on the Heart Foundation website.

The messages and codes were then designed into a series of materials - pull-up banners, brochures and advertisements - and these were shared across the community.

The pull-up banners were placed in communal areas across Deniliquin - such as medical waiting rooms - and scans of the codes were tracked to measure engagement with the campaign.
